My first born started his second grade today. And what would be better than get ready for darkening autumn and winter nights than preparing your stock of tea and hot chocolate and cookies?
Hot cocoa mix is something I found when I was looking for nice Christmas presents for my sisters. We had already decided to no buy each other anything, but I wanted to give something at least. And internet gave me a treasure. Gifts in jar has been my salvation for at least 6 years now. Different cookies and occasional hot cocoa mix.
Cookies I translated to Oat crisps, but if you know actual name in English (or any other language) please tell me.
EDIT 1stJan2018 Finally had time to post recipes
HOT COCOA MIX
2 cups powder sugar
1 cup cocoa
2,5 cups powdered milk
1 tsp salt
2 tsp corn starch
mix together in a bowl and store in a airtight jar.
To use; add 2 heaping Tbsp in a mug
For the Christmas presents I did last month, I added some crushed peppermint candies into the mix.
OAT CRISPS
50 gr butter
2 dl rolled oats
1 tsp baking powder
1 Tbsp flour
1 dl sugar
1 egg
Melt butter. Add in dry ingredients and mix well. Add in egg. Mix well.
Spoonfulls of batter into baking sheet covered pan. Leave a lot of space between drollops, because they WILL spread.
Bake in 200 deg Celcius for about 5 minutes
