It's past the half way of August and apples are ripening. When I took my boys to their week at their dad, the air was full of apple scent. Autumn is slowly coming and I'm panicking when I think about my challenges, because I'm slowly but surely getting behind my schedule. I suppose I will need to have couple of baking weeks or weekends soon.

Memories of summer cooking )

Aaaand now that the autumn is nearing us, I will give you one last pic for today's post. I made oven apples with vanilla sauce yesterday. This recipe is not in my notebook, because I know it by heart.

so, see you later!

How time flies. Just couple weeks ago it was start of the summer and now it's ending already. Not that one would notice in this heat. It's been unlikely hot and dry all summer. Somehow though I have managed to work with this challenge, though truthfully, sometimes I really did not want to cook or bake anything. It was just that hot in my kitchen.

But let's move on! )I still have few to post, but I will leave that for another time.
Hope you all have nice end of the summer. My holiday is already over and next week is the start of the school year here. Yay!

Hello there and greetings from the summery Finland. We've had three weeks of heatwave, sunshine and delicious warmth. Well, more than enough actually. It's been so dry that we've been worried about hedgehogs and other small animals. Today it rained. Finally. And while my two boys are bored and asking for things to do (thank kami for Pinterest) I find this time a perfect moment to update my challenge post. So, get ready for a massive update. I have like two months worth of stuff to tell you about.

Let's rock'n'roll )

And there you go. I think I'm up to date now with the challenge. Wanted to make more during the month of May, but there's been financial and timetable problems for that. Too many meetings and other hobbies to have time to cook. But hey! it's summer holiday and long light evenings to do what I want while kiddos are at their dad. (Granted I will be working on those weeks, but who counts)

I hope you enjoyed my posts this time. Next time on challenge post will be more bento stuff and summery things.

Yay!!! There's no more snow. It's warm enough to get our spring clothes out. I've been working out in my tiny garden. It's mostly sunny and beautiful outside. Well, mostly. Spring showers ahoy, every now and then. And we've had Ester and birthday party and lots and lots of baking and cooking to do. So let's go, I have tons of recipes or pics for you.

Spring time cooking )

And I'm too tired to type anymore. Well, more next time.

Ah, Easter is here. Finally feeling like spring is coming. Or something. There's more snow than in years, and two years ago I had already posted about seeing first spring flowers. But sun is shining today and some birds are singing and it feels like spring.

And here we go )And here we are again. Slowly but surely making recipe after recipe. Thankfully I have two kiddos with birthdays coming up so I can use that as an excuse to bake bake and bake. And I'm pretty sure there will be some edible Christmas presents this year.

I was complaining to myself that I have way too many cookie recipes... I don't even eat that much cookies. Well, might as well use this challenge to make sure if I even want to have that many recipes in my notebook. This time I will only share pictures, as I'm pretty sure you can find similar if not the same recipes all over the wonderful world of internet.

Onwards!!!!! )

Haven't much followed Olympic Games this year, but Finland got at least one gold medal, so you can see people going nuts about it today. At least my twitter feed was filled with news of it. Also I have pretty much spent my time watching Netflix this week. Just because the live action movie of Fullmetal Alchemist, aka  鋼の錬金術師  was released there last Monday. Loved every minute of it, but I think I'm biased because I pretty much love anything with Yamada Ryosuke in it. LOL.

Have a happy weekend everyone

Ever since my work mate and I started our cleaning duty at work, I've been kind of jealous of her dryer. Run washing machine, load dryer and run it and there you have it. Take dirty towels and mops with you and return them the next day. And me? I had my clothes line thingy up anywhere I had free space and waited two days to get dry laundry. After few times of talking about it, my beloved work mate took her phone and searched one for me for reasonable price. And she found one too. Granted it's 4 years old, but it's was half the price of new (but lower quality) one. AND on top of that, she organized her step son to get it for me, deliver it home and put it on its place. So now I have a dryer. While I'm writing this, it's running and I'm happy that I can use my favorite shirt tomorrow, instead of waiting for two days.

...my life right now is good. Amazing. Freaking impossibly wonderful. *knock on wood here*

But truly, life from the start of the year has been very good to me. Certainly, we've only had like a month of this year and 11 ahead, but if the rest of the eleven months will be even partly this good, I will love the year 2018.

well, there's been bizarre things as well. Like today, when I dropped my sons to have their week with their father, and his 1,5 yrs old daughter saw me hugging boys and demanded that I hug her as well... twice. Well, I can't say no to cuddling small children, no matter how I feel about their parents.

But onwards!!! I have new posts for the challenge. It's going slowly but surely. And I even have few plans for the coming week.

Challenge post #3 )I hope you enjoyed my rambling recipes again. I counted and without taking into consideration of different cookie variations and drinks I still have 130 recipes to make this year... busy.Well, that's 11 or so recipes per month and since most of them seem to be sweets... good bye loosing weight this year. Ah, well...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

Happy New Year 2018. May you accomplish all our goals and get rid of bad habits. I sure will try

And I start this with updating few recipes for my challenge. I don't think I will write up every recipe from my notebook, but I try to post pics when I make some.

Starting with Christmas stuff )

My first born started his second grade today. And what would be better than get ready for darkening autumn and winter nights than preparing your stock of tea and hot chocolate and cookies?

Hot cocoa mix is something I found when I was looking for nice Christmas presents for my sisters. We had already decided to no buy each other anything, but I wanted to give something at least. And internet gave me a treasure. Gifts in jar has been my salvation for at least 6 years now. Different cookies and occasional hot cocoa mix.

Cookies I translated to Oat crisps, but if you know actual name in English (or any other language) please tell me.

Let's get this party starte~d!

Let's get started with my challenge. Any recipes from my dearest notebook I use(d) in between June 2017 to New Years Eve 2018. This will act as masterpost as well. Some will get only a mention or pictures, and others will be more in depth.

Anyone want to bet how many recipes I manage to work with?

Let's find out )

Challenging myself

Few years back I had a recipe challenge. Tried to use all of the 140 recipes on my notebook. During one year. Failed it astronomically. Then I tried to use all of my cookbooks during one year. Failed that too. Well, the recipe challenge at least allowed me to get rid of some of the recipes. Doomed from the beginning if you ask me. Never making them again. I think.

This year I stayed away from new years resolutions and challenges, but as I was organizing my cookbooks and leaflets, I noticed that once again I have gathered myself quite a few new "oh this sounds good" recipes. SO I'm going to tackle that "Go through my favorite recipe notebook" challenge. This time though there is MUCH more than 140 recipes so the time limit will be a bit longer. And I will take note on those recipes I've already used during these summer months. That means any and all recipes I remember using from the beginning of June is accounted too. And I was thinking of having deadline at New Year's Eve 2018. So, year and a half.

Just to make this more interesting to any friends I have or might get here in DW, I will make tags and a list of recipes I need to do (Don't worry if one day you find a list full of gibberish, that's just my native language). Anyone willing to teach me masterpost thingy? If you have interest I might try translating recipes (well, SOME are already in English) while I post pictures. OH, and keep kicking my butt about it too...

But here I am blabbering again when I'm supposed to sleep. Desntist appointment tomorrow... Yikes.

Hello There

Everyone else seems to move in here, so I decided to follow.
I suppose I will slowly move all my posting to this place.. not that I have written much at all lately. Perhaps I will copy some of the older posts that I like to here as well. Dunno. We'll see.

Remind me to write introduction one day. And learn more of how to use it. Right now I just wanted to tell you I'm here as well and still alive. Yay.
